George Fahd joined Canterbury in 1979 as a second row forward.

In 1980, George became a regular member of the Under 23 team and in 1981 received the opportunity to play first grade against Western Suburbs as a replacement.

George played in the 1981 reserve grade Preliminary Semi-Final against St George as a replacement.

In 1982, George joined Western Suburbs to play 22 games from 1982 to 1984.
