Geordi Peats joined Canterbury in 1989 as a hooker.

Captaining the Under 21 team in his initial season, Geordi progressed quickly through the grades to receive the opportunity to play first grade against Parramatta when Joe Thomas was moved to lock.

Geordi was relegated when Joe Thomas returned to hooker.

In 1990, Geordi became a regular member of the reserve grade team and in 1991, became a regular member of the first grade team, winning the man of the match award in the season opener against Balmain before playing in the playoffs.

In 1992, Geordi started the season late and returned to first grade until relegated for Sean Skelton. He returned to first grade before the end of the season.

In 1993, Geordi started the season in first grade but suffered a season ending knee injury.

In 1994, Geordi became a regular member of the reserve grade team but missed the finals.

In 1996, Geordi joined South Sydney to play 20 games from 1996 to 1998.
