Gary Connolly joined Canterbury in 1993 as a centre.

Originally from Wigan, Gary arrived mid-season and became a regular member of the first grade team with Andrew Patmore being relegated. Gary played in the Preliminary Final against Brisbane.

Gary returned to Wigan and played for Great Britain throughout the 1990s.
