Frank Flynn joined Canterbury in 1948 as a centre.

He was a regular in reserve grade before receiving an opportunity to play first grade when wingers Edgar Newham and Keith Pritchard were out injured.

Frank Flynn became a regular first grade winger for the next four seasons where he finished 4th on the try scoring list behind Eddie Burns, Edgar Newham and Joe Gartner, at the time of his departure.

In 2004, Frank was nominated for the Berries to Bulldogs 70 Year Team of Champions.
