Duncan McRae played 23 games for South Sydney between 1993 and 1995 as a half-back and fullback.
Duncan joined Canterbury in 1997 and started the season in reserve grade before receiving the opportunity to play first grade against the Adelaide Rams when Travis Norton was relegated. He returned to reserve grade for Travis Norton and became captain of the Premiership winning team against Auckland.
In 1998, Duncan was a regular member of the reserve grade team and played in the Premiership winning team against Parramatta.
In 1999, Duncan joined the NSW Waratahs to out his career as a Rugby Union five eighth.
