David Hill joined Canterbury in 1954 as centre.
Progressing through the grades David received his opportunity in first grade against Balmain in 1954.
After playing two first grade games early in the 1955 season, David missed the rest of the season through injury.
He returned to Canterbury in 1958 to become a regular member of the reserve grade team.
