Dick Johnson played 29 games for South Sydney from 1938 to 1939 as a fullback.
He also represented NSW during his time at South Sydney and during his time at Cessnock in 1941 and 1942.
Dick returned to Sydney to play 16 games for Western Suburbs between 1943 and 1945.
Dick then joined Canterbury in 1946 and secured the first grade fullback position from his long serving younger brother Lin Johnson.
Dick played in the 1946 final against Balmain and the 1947 Grand Final.
