Dave Schiemer joined Canterbury in 1953 as a centre.
A regular in reserve grade, Dave received his opportunity to play first grade against South Sydney.
Dave played in the reserve grade semi-final against Manly. He commenced the 1954 season in first grade but after several games was replaced by Billy Miller as Alan Schwebel's centre partner.
Dave passed away in 2018.
