Darren Senter joined Canterbury in 1991 as a lock forward.

Darren made a late start but became a regular member of the Under 21 team and played in the Premiership winning team against Parramatta.

In 1992, Darren started the season in the Under 21 team and progressed through the grades to receive the opportunity to play first grade against Easts (Roosters) when Andrew Patmore was injured.

Darren became a regular first grade replacement and finished the season in the starting line up.

In 1993, Darren continued as a regular first grade replacement and played in the Preliminary Final against Brisbane as a replacement.

In 1994, Darren became a regular member of the reserve grade team and played in the Semi-Final against St George as a replacement.

In 1995, Darren joined Balmain to play 100 games from 1995 to 1999. In 2000, Darren joined the Wests Tigers to become the inaugural captain. He played 96 games for the Wests Tigers before retiring at the end of 2004.
