Darren Brown played 70 games for South Sydney from 1989 to 1993, mainly as a lock forward in two stints.

In 1991, Darren joined Canterbury to start the season in first grade against Balmain. His season was fragmented by injury which prevented him securing a position as centre in first grade.

Darren returned to South Sydney in 1992 and in 1994 joined Western Suburbs to play three games before transferring mid-season to Penrith to play 65 games from 1994 to 1998.
