Damien Ford played 10 games for Balmain from 1994 to 1995 as a winger.

In 1996, Damien joined Canterbury and started the season in reserve grade, playing first grade against his former club as a replacement.

Damien became a regular first grade player when Rod Silva was relegated and finished the season in first grade.

In 1997, Damien became a regular member of the reserve grade team and played fullback in the Premiership winning team against Auckland.
