In 2018 saw Clay Priest join the Bulldogs in a deal that sent Brad Abbey to Canberra. Clay went from working on powerlines to realising an NRL dream when he made his first grade debut for the Raiders in 2016 and he ended up playing 31 NRL games for the men in green, after coming through their Mounties system.

After overcoming injury in 2018, Clay made his Bulldogs debut in Round Nine against the Brisbane Broncos.

Clay left the Bulldogs after playing the one season for the club.
