Cedric De Belle joined Canterbury in 1947 as a prop forward.

In 1948, Cedric was a regular member of the reserve grade team and was selected in first grade in the second row when Alister Clarke was injured.

In 1949, Cedric maintained his spot in the second row in reserve grade after starting the season in first grade.

Cedric became a regular first grade player from 1950 to 1952. After starting the 1953 season in reserve grade, Cedric retired after six games.

In 2004, Cedric was nominated for the Berries to Bulldogs 70 Year Team of Champions.
