Bruce Conneeley joined Canterbury in 1968 as a half back.

Bruce was a regular member of the third grade team in 1968 and 1969 and played in the Grand Final against South Sydney in 1969.

In 1970, Bruce was a regular member of the reserve grade team and received his opportunity to play first grade against Penrith as a replacement.

Bruce played in the 1970 reserve grade Semi-Final against Balmain.
