Brian Davies emerged as a class prop playing for Brothers in the Brisbane competition in 1948.
He played 38 games for Queensland from 1950 to 1958. Brian played 27 tests for Australia and captained Australia in the 1958 series against Great Britain.
He played in the 1952-53 and the 1956-57 Kangaroo tours. Brian also played in the 1954 and the 1957 World Cup.
After a long and successful career, Brian moved to Sydney to play for Canterbury. A goal kicking prop forward, he was captain from 1959 to 1961, captaining a total of 46 games.
In 1960, Brian broke John Kell's 1956 point scoring record for a season (122). He played in the 1960 semi-final against Easts (Roosters) and the 1962 Pre-Season winning team against Western Suburbs.
In 1963, Brian returned to Queensland country to captain-coach St George. In 1964, Brian returned to Brothers for his final season.
In 1980, he was manager of the inaugural Queensland State of Origin team.
In 2004, Brian was nominated for the Berries to Bulldogs 70 Year Team of Champions and on February 22 2008, Brian was named in the 100 Greatest Players as part of the centenary year celebrations.
Brian passed away in November 2012.
