Brett Howland played 68 games for Cronulla from 1997 to 2000 as a winger.

In 2001, Brett joined the Bulldogs and started the season in the NRL against Melbourne. He was relegated to 1st Division mid-season for Shane Marteene.

In 2002, Brett was a regular member of the Premier League team and played in the Premiership winning team against St George Illawarra.

In 2003, Brett joined Penrith to play 30 games from 2003 to 2006. He retired at the end of the 2006 season.
