Bob McWilliams played three first grade games for South Sydney between 1956 and 1958.

He joined Canterbury in 1961 as a centre but could also play five eighth. Bob was a regular in reserve grade and received his opportunity in first grade against Newtown when Ray Gartner was injured.

After a late start to the season in 1962, Bob only played two further games in third grade.
