Bob Hobbs joined Canterbury in 1945 as a goal kicking second rower.

Bob forced his way into the first grade team late in the 1945 season after a series of sound displays in reserve grade.

Bob played in the 1945 reserve grade Grand Final against South Sydney before joining Western Suburbs in 1946 where he played four games.

He then moved to Parramatta in their inaugural season where he played 79 games between 1947 and 1954.

Bob passed away in 2006.
