Bob Farrar joined Canterbury in 1940 and quickly secured a permanent position in first grade as a second rower.

He played in the 1940 final against Easts (Roosters) and was a member of the 1942 Premiership winning team.

Bob departed the club for two seasons before returning at the end of World War II for another season.

Bob joined Easts (Roosters) in 1946 playing 14 games.

In 2004, Bob was nominated for the Berries to Bulldogs 70 Year Team of Champions.
