Albert Paul played one game for Newtown in the 1948 competition where a knee injury ended his season.
Originally from the Newcastle competition, Albert returned to Newcastle and emerged in 1952 by representing Country, NSW and Australia against New Zealand in the second row.
Albert was selected in 1952-53 Kangaroo tour and the New Zealand tour in 1953. He played four games for NSW between 1952 and 1953 along with four tests for Australia between 1952 and 1935.
He joined Canterbury in 1956 and was a regular member of the first grade team, playing in the second row.
