Alan Crumpton joined Canterbury in 1947 as a winger.
In 1948, Alan became a regular member of the third grade side and played in the semi-final against Western Suburbs.
In 1949, Alan became a regular member of the reserve grade team and played first grade when Jeff Simmonds was injured.
Alan secured a wing position in first grade in 1950.
A dedicated club player, Alan continued with the club for three further seasons as a regular in reserve grade. Alan played in the reserve grade Grand Final against South Sydney in 1952.
Alan continued his involvement with the Bulldogs Football Club right up to his passing on January 13th, 1983.
