Alan Brady played 82 games for Western Suburbs from 1929 to 1935 including playing in the Premiership winning team of 1930 and 1934.
In 1930, Alan scored three tries in the Grand Final.
A centre or winger, Alan also played two games for NSW (1930 & 1935) before joining Canterbury in 1936 as captain.
Alan captained all the matches that he played for Canterbury.
He played in the club's inaugural first grade semi-final against Easts in 1936 and played in the premiership winning 1938 team.
In 1940, Alan commenced the season as the club's first captain-coach but after three games decided to retire to concentrate on his coaching role.
Later in the season Alan assisted the club further by playing two lower grade games due to injuries in those grades.
